Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Garrett Broshuis flirts with a no-hitter loses 4-2

in the seven inning first game of a doubleheader in Portland. The SeaDogs scored a pair of runs in the fourth without a hit as Pat Dodson committed three errors in one inning. The Defs would tie the game up on RBIs by Eugenio Velez (two stolen bases) and Todd Jennings. Dobson had a tough night on the basepaths as well getting picked off twice. But in the bottom of the sixth Broshuis gave up his only hit a game winning two run homer.

In the nightcap the Defenders trail 3-1 after 4 innings as Ben Cox didn't make it out of the first inning. In this game so far the Defs have had two runners picked off and another caught stealing!

Pat Dobson needs a day off. The guy has played nonstop since TI left. Where's the help?

Broshuis has pitched a one-hit game and a two-hit game and lost both. What's the old adage, "If it weren't for bad luck........................"

Baserunning mistakes and fielding errors starting to become glaring problems for this team. They simply do not have enough offense to overcome this many mistakes.

I see TI is on the SJ roster but isn't playing.

MILB.COM has Renquena on the DL.

It would be nice to get Hinshaw back soon......

Hope we gain a little ground on Portland today.

Need Hainshaw back soon. Wonder what happened to Requena? He played game two last night. Bad info on the milb.com website or something else?
