Defenders win opener on road in 13 innings 8-7!

They blow an early 6-2 lead but Jake Wald's RBI single driving home Todd Jennings was the winner. John Bowker goes 3 for 6 with a HR, Travis I. goes yard, and Brian Horwitz goes 3 for 6. Chris Begg gave up 11 hits and 6 earned runs over 4.2 innings but the bullpen trio of Justin Hendrick, Osiris Matos and Alex Hinshaw pitched no hit shut out ball for the next 5.1 innings until Brian Anderson gave up a run in a save situation in the 11th. Geno Espineli shut out the FisherCats in the 12th and 13th innings for the win.
