Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Defs lose heartbreaker 9-8 to RockCats

as NB scores 3 in the bottom of the 9th off closer Brian Anderson. For CT John Bowker continued his hot hitting going 3 for 5 with a HR. Jake Wald hit his first HR of the year and Simon Klink had 2 RBIs.

hey greg, when the guys come back into town, can you have a sit down with machemer or stanley and ask them why anderson was stretched out for this game? he came in the 7th...threw the 8th and the 9th?

wat up with that?

nice to see the bats thaw out with the weather

and i would like to apologize for my cracks about northeastern cold springs...god punished me by sending the worst weather here to socal...cold, rain, wind

caused me to develop a sinus infection that has led to an inner ear condition and forced me to miss the ability to drive to see sj play in rancho cucamonga

so im sorry....can you all now pray that i get cured by tuesday so i can catch the game in lancaster??? thx

It's my understanding that the Giants mandate how pitchers are used and how often, therefore I would believe they have something in mind for Anderson.

While it's nice to see some hitting, before I get too optimistic, let's see what happens in Trenton. This is the pitching staff that threw three (or was it two) shutouts last week in Norwich.

Just as an aside, what's up in New Britain? I thought the Twins loaded that team up this year. I've already read that Ingraham might be in trouble.

Caught the game in trenton Sat, combined no hitter into the ninth. Now I'm in SC and will see the pelicans against the astros and pirates farm clubs. We better get busy because trenton has a kick ass team.

I'll see if I can get the Steamer Friday night re: Anderson. Although what hondo says may be on the money. Hope you feel better!

NB seems to be in a little bit of trouble with their top pitching prospect getting busted with a 50 game suspension for substance violation. The manger blasted his team after Saturday's 10-0 loss in the Courant--good thing they scratched out that win yesterday I guess. Not the first time he's been in the press about his players. Dating back to last year he seems to have a love/hate thing going on with his team. Maybe not what the Twins want to see.
IC--I envy your road trip!

Like you and Hondo both mention let's see what see do against a 11-2 first place team that totally shut us down at home last time we saw them.

I could tell who is juicing in a lot of cases by looking at the person, and let me tell ya, the drug testing system ain't all that great, most of the guys doing it aren't getting snagged...... But if there was a ten million dollar a year possibility at the end of the tunnel, I would probably juice too and take my chances.
