Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Defenders nip RockCats 2-1 in New Britain....

as pitcher Darren Sack improves to 2-3 going 6.2 allowing just 4 hits and one earned run. Carlos Soas was the hitting star going 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and runs scored. Soas doubled in the second and came around on a RockCat error and in the seventh doubled and scored on Steve Holm's double.
Brian Anderson got the save, his seventh, but not without the usual adventure of putting a couple of runners on before getting the third out.

OK, let's fast forward to Saturday, 5/19. Hinshaw starts and goes 3 effective innings, replaced by McNiven in the 4th. Anyone know what's going on? If I got the rotation right, it was Gino's turn tonight. I hope he isn't having arm problems or some other type of "owie". Another possibility is they wanted to give him extra time off because of the 7 inning outing last week. Hopefully that's all it is.

AND JAKE'S BACK.
