Defs split win Game 1 4-1 drop nightcap 3-0 against
Trenton today.
At last we score runs at home against the Thunder! And Connecticut wasted no time in game 1 in the first inning Eugenio Velez doubled came in on a Carlos Sosa double and Sosa scores ahead of John Bowker's 7th HR of the season. Steve Holm would add an insurance run in the sixth onhis 4th HR, a solo shot.
Velez who should have been stealing in the bottom of the 9th in Friday's game swiped 4 bases; second twice and third twice and went 3 for four on the game. Bowker went 2 for 3 in the game.
Geno Espineli pitches 6 inning allowing only one run on a home run among 5 hits allowed. Brian Anderson picks up his 8th save.
In the nightcap the same old story--the Thunder shut out the Defs with the Defs managing only two hits. Ben Cox was the hard luck loser--again.
