Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

My first thought was "Ah heck they lose a heart breaker

and the road trip is an even split." My second was "Where the heck did Joe Bateman come from?"
Joe Bateman gives up a 2 out walk off homer to Chip Cannon in the bottom of the tenth to give the FisherCats a 4-3 victory in the rubber game of the three game set. It was Bateman's first appearance of the season. Nothing like getting thrown into the deep end. It's all about development not wins and losses right? I guess Anderson, if he's still with the team, wasn't an option with a tie game on the road.
Anyway, Garrett Broshuis had another good outing with 6 IP giving up 6 hits, one earned run and punched out 5 Ks.
Simon Klink ties the game up for the Defs with a homer in the top of the ninth after Travis Ishikawa (2-4) was ejected for arguing his called strikeout along with manger Dave Machemer. I would have loved to have seen that.
John Bowker gets an outfield assist for throwing out a runner at home in the bottom of the ninth to perserve the tie setting the stage for Cannon's shot in the tenth.

The walk off was a shot. That is a nice park up there, but the parking sucks.
