Connecticut wins the opener 1-0 behind the pitching

of Nick Pereira. Nick went 5.1 IP giving up three hits, 3 Ks but struggled with contol issuing 5 walks. Brian Anderson picked up his 10th save. Anderson with a pefect 1.2 innings pitched.

The Defs only could three hits as well. A lead-off triple by Eugenio Velez, thank goodness he's back, and a RBI ground out by Carlos Sosa was all the scoring in the game. Sosa also threw a runner out at home to keep the shutout.

In the nightcap the Defs are behind 6-0 after just two innings. Ben Cox gave up all six runs and Joe Bateman is on in relief.
