Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team.
We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Here's a guy I think should be in Fresno next year..
Matos sure impressed me the last half of the season and deserves a promotion but the Giants have so many relievers, who knows where any of them will be.
I gotta pay more attention to what's going on at the Sun. sounds like it was a fun game to watch.
The Defs have the 2008 home schedule up on their web site and if it's etched in stone, they'll have a tough time improving attendance. But on the plus side, all night games will start at 6:35 and Sunday's at 1:05. Of the 71 home dates, 45 are in Apr, May & June and 26 in July & Aug, the months when they can make a "little hay." The EL hasn't helped either by having Bingo in 3 times in May.
But my biggest gripe is April. Of the 16 home dates, 12 are week days and not one of them is scheduled as a day game. Why a majority of these games can't be played in the daytime is beyond me. I have always maintained that day games in April would draw more fans then night games, perhaps by a lot.
Well all the naysayers about attendance and lack of support will be able to get busy early next season. Charley and crew have a big nut to crack.
Matos is a good pitcher- the Giants have given up on him for some reason and have put all of their affection toward Anderson. I think Matos is a very good pitcher who could survive in the pen of the Devil Rays or similar team.
