Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Noticed that too. Must be the recent personnel changes in the front office. Sleeker look but bare bones functionality. Definitely easier to manage. You can still buy tickets and merchandise, check the schedule and read recent press releases. Gone, though, are kids features, team history (which hasn't been updated in a year anyway) and press notes (I don't think those were available last year either).

Went to the tour opener; same day "Magic" was released so I'm skipping the return show. I'll probably regret it however.
$15 up in Lou's would be pretty great!

"Each Thursday Defenders home game (10 in total), fans will have another thing on their mind besides baseball and that's what to eat next. The ValuMail All-You-Can-Eat package includes sodas, hot beverages, hamburgers/cheeseburgers, hot dogs, pretzels, and popcorn, along with a ticket to the game. Packages are only $15 for adults and $12 for kids (12 & under). Season passes are available for all ten Thursday games for only $125 per adult and $100 per kid. Fans will receive unique bracelets upon entering the ballpark and will have access to their own third base concession stand. Food will start being served when the gates open and run all the way through the end of the seventh inning - more than enough time to indulge!"

Good deal; make mine double cheeseburgers!

I'd rather have "Thirsty Thursdays" back. Good beer at a decent price and a nice glass to boot. Now I'll get fatter and my daily dosage of Lipitor will increase.

LC- I wish I were headed to ST. Have a terminal case of cabin fever. By the way, how did Grandma like the autographed basketball?

Hey she loved it- thanks for asking.

Had 80 people for her party at lakeview tavern in Branford.

I noticed Anderson Garcia got picked up by Seattle off waivers form the phils. I remember him closing a game out last year against us- he looked damn good. Got a cup of coffee with the phils after that and got shelled then sent back to AAA. baseballcube has his stats but mlb doesn't for some reason.

I hunted him down after the game in norwich and told him he was going to make the majors and he cracked a huge smile and seemed flattered yet confused by my support. He signed a ball for me- but he printed his mame on it and tried to convey to me he doesn't write script- classic moment. I could tell he was a good guy - and humble. He's been kicking around a while- I hope he makes a few million.

Those are good glasses on thursdays last year, maybe they'll still be doing it, who knows.
