Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

SFHardball.com projects the starting pitchers as..

righties Adam Cowart, Garrett Broshuis, Dave McKae, Joe Martinez and lefty Paul Oseguera. Oseguera is sidelined with a blister but is not expected to miss much time.
GB and McKae return. This will be Garrett's third season in Norwich and MaKae's second. Cowart is a name I've seen a lot of on the various boards and is projected to be the Opening Day pitcher.
David Jay of Hardball.com has Nick Pereira, Pat Misch, Matt Palmer, Geno Espineli and Ronnie Ray as the Fresno starting five. Where's Chris Begg?

David also reports that Simon Klink will see time at first base. TI's last chance?

Are you sure TI is coming back? Can EME be far behind? Not too excited about the projected starting rotation either. God, this could be a long year.

Re: TI & EME; that's the vibe over on SFHardball and it does have a certain smell to it.

Greg - I answered your question on Begg over on our message boards, but the short version is he's injured.

As I read between the lines of the conversations I've had with player development guys (and again, this is my interpretation, NOT what they've directly said)... Ray is up there because Begg could be back in a relatively short time and they'd rather bounce Ronnie around than any of the guys who are opening the year in the Defenders' rotation.

As to Hondo's question, they are both on the plane that left Sky Harbor 2 hours ago.

Broshuis has two more years until he would be eligible for minor league free agency. If he leaves the organization during or after this year, it will not be at his initiative. If he doesn't improve on the K/9 and K/BB ratios he posted last year, he's not going to be working above Double-A for any organization.

Sending TI and EME back is like a middle finger being extended from SF to CT. I can't wait for this PDA to end.

Any update on Oseguera joining the Defenders? I had the opportunity to see him play while in SJ and he was exceptional. Is he still in extended spring training? For a blister???
