Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Letter to the editor in today's Hartford Courant....

Why has The Courant decided to give free publicity to one Connecticut AA baseball team and not the other?

The Courant is circulated statewide. As a resident, I would like to read equal coverage of both teams as well as the Red Sox, Yankees and Mets.

There were lovely articles about opening day for the New Britain Rock Cats and a stunning tribute to their radio announcer [Page 1, April 7, "Voice Of The Rock Cats"]. The Connecticut Defenders have wonderful family-affordable games. The front office provides great between-innings events. What a terrific way to spend some time with your kids. It's America's pastime!

But The Courant seems to recognize only one minor league team in Connecticut. Imagine how many subscribers would drop The Courant if it gave us only Yankees news.

That's awesome!! I would prolly never have the courage to stand up and write something like that. It's true, there should be equal coverage.
