BaySox bump Nate 7-1 in Bowie tonight...
as the BaySox use a 5 run fourth to wipe out a 1-0 CT. lead. Nate Bump started going 3.1 IP and charged with 4 runs, all earned. Josh Sharpless came on in relief of Bump in the 5 run fourth and gave up an unearned run in his 1.2 IP. Ronnie Ray gives up a pair of runs in his two innings. Jason Waddell throws a scoreless inning.
TI goes 2 for 4 and collects the only Defenders RBI as Connecticut had only 7 hits in the game. As Hondo commented, Paul Oseguera might still be sidelined with Bump getting the start.
Big crowd in Bowie--9,148!

I'm not quite sure why, after a long layoff, Sharpless is put in with runners in scoring position. This is his second game, and both times the inherited runnners scored. He has a zero ERA but it is deceiving. Easy for me to second guess after the fact, but I may have done it differently by putting him in at the start of an inning as he hasn't played all year.
Bump is a reliever so I don't think he was scheduled to go too long into the game anyway.
Bowdwen throws in NB for Portland in a few hours against swarzak, not sure yet if I'm going.
Dollar dog night at Dodd Monday night, with a new ticket price promotion tied in to the price of gas. Hopefully the local TV sations will hype it, but I doubt it.

Finally underway in Bowie.
Denker is hitting .333 in Fresno. Where is the justice?

Denker was .333 here also. 25 K's in 76 official AB's.

i believe denker's numbers in fresno (albeit still a small sample size) provide one of the reason's why the giants arent having certain players making a stop in norwich...and that includes both bocock and burris...and take a look at horwitz, his power numbers are up from last season...i know many of you guys are upset that the giants have not been putting the best team on the field for the defenders, but the org also has to look at the bottom line...
