Break up the Defs! 14-3 victory over the B-Mets..
today. Carlos Sosa ( 2-4, double) and EME (2-5, second HR this season) both drive in four runs. Ben Copeland stays red hot going 3 for 4 with his second homer of the season and this series knocking in a pair and scoring 4 times. David Maroul keeps improving 2 for 5 with a double and 2 RBIs. Connecticut has scored 33 runs in two games, all earned.
Joey Martinez gets his first win of the season going 5 IP allowing 6 hits and three earned runs. Osiris Matos and Justin Hedrick throw 2 scoreless inning each.
Misc fan notes: As noted by lc fan favorie Jake Wald is back from Fresno. Jake went 1 for 2 scoring a run, was HBP and thrown out at the plate. Olmo Rossairo came in for him in the fifth at shortstop. Brad Boyer started today and Kyle Haines has been playing well so I'm curious if there was a roster move.
Pic is Jake Wald on May 12, 2007, a R-Phillies 2-1 win.

is the baby mets pitching really that awful? has minaya done such a piss poor job in development?

Finally, we have a shortstop. I just hope he's OK with being back here.
Amusing sidelight: I haven't "studied" all the comments/recaps written about the offensive juggernaut for the previous two days, but nowhere do I recall EME being mentioned. Admittedly, I'm dog tired and may have missed it, but not a word of him will be cyberspaced from these fingertips!
night all
