Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Defs fall 5-2 in Harrisburg as Paul Oseguera goes

just 3 innings giving up three runs, two earned, to fall to 0-1 after two starts. Olmo Rossario had the line of the game for Connecticut going three for five with a pair of doubles, a RBI, run scored and a stolen base. Adam Witter knocked in the other run with a sac fly. Jake Wald didn't play in this game. David Maroul committed his 10th error of the season at third.
Cory VanAllen gets the win in his Double A pitching debut.

just to give everyone an update on trey webb. he is in extended spring training starting his career as a pitcher. he has pitched and inning in two games and has struck out 4 of 6 batters and has no hits against him. his fast ball is 96mph and has good movement. he has excellent changeup and curveball. we do not know how long he will be in arizona before they send him out but they are very impressed with him so for.

Thanks for the update on Webb----
Rosario had a good night in the loss last night. I can't see taking his bat out of the lineup.

Also, Maroul got picked off on one play and got caught between the bags on a hit as well. Bummer.

Interesting milb observation, Darren Ford (Brewers high A) went 0-4 yet still managed to swipe 5 bases last night. Pretty wild feat. I like that kid, he was another of my favorite Hawaii Winter Ball players. I'm going to NB Tuesday to watch Ford's homeboy Jonathan Tucker tuesday night, Tuck hit his first dinger last night. Be there or be square.
