Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team.
We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Defs drop #6 in a row 6-5 to B-Mets today....
as Adam Cowart had nothing and all his stuff was "up" today; not good for a groundball pitcher. Defs get 13 hits but not enough runs. Not theusual recap tonight but will post a bunch of "happy" pics instead. Was wishing they were going to wear the blue jerseys today.
I was going to go but had a bad run at the Sun after after the games last night and woke up pretty disgusted...
After a season and a half of driving fom new haven to norwich- I hate to admit it- but the ride is getting to me sometimes.
Carp had a solid day I see. I know Martinez is the highly touted one, but Carp and Murphy (although I'm judging Murp more by stats than personal observation) strike me as can't miss prospects. Evans is cooling off a bit in NY so we may see some shuffling in the Mets system.
Hopefully the day off will start the defenders off fresh.
horwitz got his first hit as a big leaguer today...and the crowd gave him a great ovation...he also made some nice plays in left, and that kinda surprised me...too bad cowart had an off day today
SUNDAY-RUN DAY-FUN DAY-SUNDAE AS ENTERTAINMENT VALUE GOES--THE DAY WAS ABOUT AN 8 1/2!!!! GREAT WEATHER----LOTS OF KIDS RUNNING THE BASES AFTER THE GAME-- LOTS OF SUNDAES BEING EATEN BY THOSE SAME KIDS---LOTS OF PAPER AIRPLANES BEING TOSSED AT HOME PLATE (99% FROM THE FIRST BASE SIDE--PLAYING THE WIND!!)--LOTS OF SUN & FUN--IT WAS JUST TOO BAD THAT THEY LOST. THERE'S ALWAYS TOMORROW.
The new haven Register on Sunday had a nice little article on the minors and Murphy has moved up quite a bit as a prospect. You ought to check it out. It was pretty comprehensive.
