Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Defs their third game out of the last 4 winning...

1-0 over the FisherCats. Nate Bump (another good start 6.1 IP 3hits), Justin Hedrick (1.2 IP, 1 hit) and Osris Matos (1 IP, save #8) combine on the four hit shutout. All the scoring came with two outs in the sixth as Ryan Rohlinger (2 for 3) singled and Carlos Sosa doubled him home. The Defs would go on to load the bases but didn't score. Olmo Rosairo went 2 for 4 in the game. The Connecticut defense turned three DPs behind the pitchers.

Some observations: 1) Pablito looks solid defensively. The hitting is behind, but it will pick up. He looks like the real deal. 2) Rohlinger is a player, both offensively and defensively. 3) Maroul looks comfortable at first and seems more relaxed at the plate.

I hope I didn't just put the "kiss of death" on these guys.

Check out the Def game write up on its Web Site. The 3rd para starts by referring to two Def runs and the 5th para makes no sense. Hire me Charley and I'll write an accurate post game recap.

"The Defenders continued to plate additional runs for insurance but the offense lacked further impeccability beyond the sixth. With a 1-0 advantage, it was time for Osiris Matos to do what he does best."

Cripes, you got to read tonight's. I can't blame the author for not taking credit. I've always thought of myself as a poor writer, but compared to this "novelist", I should be in line for the Nobel.
