Paul Oseguera, Osiris Matos and Sergio Romo..
combine on a six hit shutout as Connecticut edges the Thunder 1-0 tonight. The Defenders managed just three singles in the game, two by Ben Copeland. In the top of the 7th Copeland singled, Kyle Haines moved him over with a sac bunt and Jake Wald delivered the winning hit to score Copeland.
Meanwhile on the mound Oseguera went 6 IP allowing 4 hits and getting 5 Ks. Osiris Matos continues his great season going 2 IP with 4 Ks and lowering his ERA to 1.11. Sergio Romo came on in the 9th for his 11th save striking out one.
Misc fan notes: That's two in a row over the Thunder and means at least a split of the six game road trip. How long will Matos be around for at the rate he's going?

Brian Anderson is in the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes roster. They start next week.
Matos is good, I'd like to see him move up.
I went to NB tonight. Last weeks EL pitcher of the week Yoslan Hernandez thew for the Curve and got beat up a little. The highlight of the night was a tape measure first pitch pinch hit 2 run shot by Altoona's Jonel Pacheco. Army camo tee shirt night Thurs.

JP made his PCL debut last night; 2 innings, 1 hit, & 2 bb's. Gino Espinelli is still going strong with an ERA of 1.something.
Not sure what to make of this, but Mike Mooney, outfielder, has been promoted to Fresno from San Jose. Maybe it's a temporary move. I don't think he's a highly rated prospect, but still, what about EME?

Hey Greg
Nike Ashmore has some pix posted from last night. One is Oseguera and you get a good look at the road uni. Also has AR and you get a view of the uni's back.

Hondo--thanks for the heads up about Mike's pics. Good point about Mooney (Gale Gordon relative?) and EME. I posted a question on McC under minor lines 6/10 about it.
hope you're feeling better.
