Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Dave Maroul at shortshop = 3 errors which is a lot

better than I'd do but what was the deal with that tonight? First game at short for Dave this season after making his first start at second the other day. Is Haines hurt? Where's Jake? Oh yeah at Fresno.
CT loses game 1 of the Big Papi tour up in Portland 8-3 as they manage just 4 hits. Olmo hit his seventh homer and Pablo went two for four. Big Papi goes 2 for three with a walk and RBI.
Joey Matinez (6-8) goes an eventful 5 innings allowing 5 hits and six (?) walks allowing all 8 SeaDogs runs, five of them earned.
Not a good start to this big four game series.

Maroul at SS ???????? Coach seems to be confused as to where this guys best posistion is. Bench, A ball, or the independant league all come to mind. Witter is a better option then this guy. He can at least get on base.
They should bring this new pitcher down to Connecticut to get his stuff together. He has to be better then Snyder who is way over matched. Of course you could turn Bump back into a starter.
