Defs club three homers enroute to a 4-1 win....
over the FisherCats tonight at Dodd. Olmo Rosairo hit a two run homer to deep left in the third inning to put Connecticut up 2-1. It was Rosairo's sixth home run of the season. An inning later Ben Copeland solo homered to right, his fourth this season, to put CT up 3-1. Ryan Rohlinger followed the next inning with his own solo shot (his third, all at Dodd) to close out the scoring at 4-1.
Adam Cowart improves to 8-6 throwing 5 IP scattering 7 hits and allowing the single NH run. Brooks McNiven, Kelvin Pichardo and Justin Hedrick (save # 4) close it out for Connecticut.
Misc fan notes: Connecticut goes 4-4 on the 8 game road stand; not what they needed going into it. 6-2 would have been much better. Going into the All-Star Connecticut is 5 games behind second place Portland at 49-48. The road trip coming up with four games against the B-Mets, the team directly in front of the Defenders, and three games against Portland could be the difference maker as to whether this team makes the playoffs.
