Defs hang on beat El Duque, B-Mets 9-5 on the road..

tonight. The Defenders scored two runs in the first inning against a rehabbing Orlando Herandez on RBI doubles by Pablo and Adam Witter. El Duque pitched just the one inning for the B-Mets who had 7400+ in the stands. The Defenders built up a 6-0 lead after after three innings but the B-Mets drew to 6-5 until Connecticut scored three insurance runs in the 9th inning with two runs coming in on Simon Klink's pitch hit two run single.
Plenty of hitting stars tonight with Pablo going 3 for 5 with two doubles and his third homer as he scored three times and knocked in two. Witter went 3 for 5 as well with a pair of singles, a double, two runs scored and a RBI. EME also collected three hits plus a walk in four official trips to the plate.
Garrett Broshuis improves to 10-6 with a 3.61 ERA. GB threw 5 IP allowing 10 hits and four runs. The bullpen hangs on to nail down the victory. Connecticut is a game back of the third place B-Mets and four back of second place Portland.

that was a question I asked brute when he was out here earlier in the season based on the sometimes iffy record keeping in some parts of the world. Brute said yes he's a big, playful kid and I have to agree that he probably is 21.
