Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Defs lose 5-3 in New Britain as the winning...

streak is snapped at six games. Jason Waddell (0-2) gave up a pair of solo homers in the bottom of the eighth as the RockCats broke a 3-3 tie. Connecticut had tied the game in the top half of the frame on EME's solo homer to left, his 4th HR and the first one in a long time. EME had a good day at the plate going 3 for 4 and scoring two runs. Pablo Sandoval hit his first EL homer for Connecticut's first run in the fourth inning. In the same inning EME would single and come home all the way from first on Simon Klink's RBI double.
Adam Cowart went 6 IP giving up three earned runs before turning the game over to Waddell in the seventh.
New Britain hit three homers in the game including two by Brock Peterson and the tie breaker by Luke Hughes.

Misc fan notes: looking at the game boxscore/recap, Connecticut had a bunch of chances in this game to score additional runs but missed their chances. Too bad as they could have reached .500 with a win.

Matos takes the loss vs. Dodgers tonight, giving up 5 unearned runs and 4 hits. Guess one could call that a glass half empty/half full scenario.

It would be nice if Def's could take the next two in New Britain and go into the Bingo series with a .500 record.
