Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team.
We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Osiris Matos made his MLBB debut last night..
throwing a 1-2-3 ninth as the Giants beat the Cubs 8-3. Sergio Romo made his 4th appearance for the Giants since his callup pitching a 1-2-3 8th inning. Romo has now thrown 3.2 inning with 6 Ks and two walks and allowed one earned run for a 2.45 ERA.
If you mean between CT and Giants, I talked Johnny Gill last night, he said he hasn't heard anything going around yet, but he thinks that most likely Giants will sign again with CT for the fact that it's a bit lat e to try and find a replacement park for following season. he believes that the Giant's shall be around for at least one more year. But like I said in the Andy Pappas thread, that Johnny thinks it is only an 80% chance...never know.
....then why would other teams automatically sign. If that's the case. Then Giants are here to stay. Because no other team seems to want to leave theirs, or they are already taken....sooooo... that leaves giants here.
Teams don't automatically sign. For example, Cleveland extended its deal with Akron. Why? For starters, Akron is about an hour away. It's the same reason Philadelphia re-upped with Reading.
If the Giants wanted to stay here so badly, they would have extended their contract. I know for a fact San Francisco has made no gesture toward the Defenders about staying. I also know for a fact that the Giants do not want to be here next season.
There are several teams who have not extended their Double-A PDCs: Milwaukee, Florida, Minnesota, N.Y. Yankees, Cincinnati, L.A. Dodgers, Arizona, Seattle, L.A. Angels, San Diego and Kansas City. Some of these may have extended and I just don't know it, but at least half have not. Some, like the Yankees and Minnesota, are forgone conclusions for extensions and other teams don't deal with PDCs until after the season.

Teams and affiliates can't negotiate with anyone but who they are contractually tied to until after the season.
