Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Pablo slams the RockCats as Defs win 8-7 before

a 2008 record crowd of 7070 at Dodd tonight. Sandoval (3-5) hit a two out grand slam in the third to give CT a 4-1 lead. It was Pablo's sixth Double A homer. Kyle Haines, another 3 for 5 performace, singled in a pair of runs in the fourth to extend CT's lead to 6-1. Defs pitcher Ben Snyder couldn't hold the lead however as the RockCats came up with a 5 runs in the fifth to tie the game 6-6. Connecticut reliever Ronnie Ray (4-1) came on and gave up a run in the seventh as the RockCats took a 7-6 lead. But the Defenders answered back with RBI singles by Sandoval (5 RBIs in the game) and Adam Witter to finish the scoring at 8-7.
Paul Oseguera stuck oout the side in his inning of work and Justin Hedrick notches his 5th save with a scoreless 9th. CT pitching racked up 14 Ks in the contest (Snyder 7, Ray and Oseguera three each and Hedrick one).
