Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Pablo and Rohlinger get the call...too bad

that they had that bus trip out to Ohio first. I'll always remember Pablo's homer Sunday off the batter's eye. He was just too good here. Kind of suprised at the Rohlinger call up but he was real solid here. Kiss the playoffs goodbye. But I'm surprising calm about this. Pablo's callup has been in the back of my mind for a while now but I didn't want to say/type it out loud. Like I said he was just too good here. So congrats and good luck to all three! I see Ryan is starting tonight and batting second; he's 0 for 2 so far with a fielding error (well, he got that out of the way).
Wonder if we even get replacements, although we'll need another catcher...Buller?
TI also went up and Holm and Bowker got sent down...maybe here?

Bowker and Holm are both at Fresno.

I can't believe Bowker got sent down. He's awesome.

Now Olmo is back in the infield....can you say "train-wreck?" He needs to stay at DH. Great hitter but it's a shame they had to kill a cow to produce his glove.

The Giants are so unbelievably messed up. They couldn't wait until after Labor Day? Their team is going nowhere this season so why the hurry? This is the second time they have promoted from a contending Def team at season's end thereby all but ruining the team's playoff chances.

As far as replacements go, I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of guys from a nearby Indy League.

I wish both players well, but I really hope next years Def team is a farm of any organization excepting the present. The Giants can go "doodoo" in their hat.

2005 all over again. This stuff used to happen with the Yanks all the time but it would happen in July and not with two weeks to go and two games back of a playoff spot.
A long discussion thread on McC today about milb shifts in the Giants org.
I have no clue about '09 in Norwich re: the MLBB club.
