I think the deal with Rule V guys is that they have to be on the 40 man roster regardless of level the whole season or they go back to their original org.
Can anyone else confirm or clairfy?

So that is a "major league phase" move?

My Rule 5 understanding is they have to stay, at least, on the roster of the phase of the draft that they were taken. In other words, if they went in the Major League phase, they have to be on the big league team; if they were taken in the Triple A phase, they have to be on the Triple a team. They can move up. not down.
Not sure if the original team can say "no thanks" if a drafted player is eligible for return to the old team.
It's pretty confus

the old team can take them back for 1/2 the rule 5 fee.
