Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team.
We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Mike Mooney....
Thanks for your continued "viewership" as the blog had 1,419 visits last month compared to Nov. '07's 486 visists. Three months down and four to go!
Is it just me, or is it very possible to have a stacked team next season at some point? Alderson, Bumgarner, Pucetas, Posey, etc. Any knowledge of who may be in line for the closers role?
As far as a closer goes if Hedrick doesn't go to AAA (which he deserves) he might be the one. Or maybe Brian Anderson will come back. I wonder what happened to him...and Minicozzi?
Hedrick is the man haha. Besides having very good stuff, he is one to always love having a good time down in the bullpen and keeping the guys in a good mood. One time during mid-May, i was at the ballpark prior to BP even, as i was sitting in the front row, Hedrick asks me to hold onto his glove and hat while he goes running up and down the stairs. A few minutes later, Sharpless comes over and asks me for the glove and hat, and I told him no because Hedrick had told me to hold. He reached over into the stands and then took off into the clubhouse with it. Hedrick later comes back from running, and boy was he pissed. Thankfully, Hedrick, and the rest of the guys and I were and are good friends because I go to many games and just chill near the pen. The one guy I didn't know at the time was Sharpless because this was just soon after he joined the team. I've been going to games since I believe the '98 maybe '99 season and over that period of time, have become good acquaintances with some future major league players(Thames, Johnny Rod, Taschner, Matos, Romo, Lowry,) to name a few. any of you friends or know a lot of the players pretty well?
Hedrick has always been fan friendly. He deserves a little better shake from the Giants than he's gotten to this point. I don't think he's suited for more than two innings at a clip, but he is ready now for the bigs if called upon.
Dfensfan- My experience is that players recognize fans from the games, which makes it fun when you give them a quick hello at away games or when they're playing at different levels. That's one of the things tht makes the minor league games fun. While I grew up a Yankee fan I now find myself rooting for individual players I've sen in the minors instead, regardless of the team they are on.

LC- very well said and I can't agree more with your point. Any of you guys remember the days of Mike Cervenak, Juan Rivera, Marcus Thames, and J-Rod?
