Defs break 4 game slide, win 8-4 at Dodd...
this morning/afternoon. Had to work tonight so I only saw the first four innings with the Defs up 3-2. Madison Bumgarner didn't really have it today falling behind on most batters and was pretty hittable. He gave up a two run homer that tied the game at four each. His line on the day was 6 IP, 7 hits, 2 BBs all four runs earned 5 Ks and a pick off.
Defs broke the game open with a four run seventh, as Brett Pill hit his team leading fourth homer to open the frame and make it 5-4. EME would plate two runs with a double and Brock Bond would double in EME to make it 8-4.
Waldis Joaquin (1-3) gets his first win of the season throwing two scoreless innings and Dan Otero throws a 1-2-3 ninth as the Defs take just one game out of four from the RockCats.
CT banged out 12 hits today with Bond (double, 2 RBIs), Pill, Brandon Crawford (double), EME (double, 2 RBIs) and Mike Mooney all getting two hits each.
Misc fan notes: CT hits the road and plays the B-Mets for a three game weekend set--let's hope whatever Decker said to them after the last night's game travels to NY with them.

Pill's HR yesterday fell just short of the trees in back of the left field fence. The one vs. Portland came down half way up into the trees. He certainly doesn't get cheated.

The Mets claimed Pat Misch and assigned him to Buffalo. Hopefully this will be a chance for him to get back to the "Bigs" and have a good showing.
