Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

EME and Mike Mooney squeeze by the RockCats..

today 4-3 in NB. Mooney, who totally screwed up a sac bunt attempt last week, squeezes in EME for the winning run in the top of the 8th. EME was the star today going 2 for 3 with that double and a solo homer (#4) in the 6th.
Matt Yourkin gets the win in relief of starter Daryl Maday. Youkin improves to 4-1 with a 2.19 ERA. Dan Otero threw the 8th innings and Joe Paterson (maybe he's the closer now) gets his 8th save.
Tyler LaTorre went 2 for 2 with a pair of walks, a run scored and a RBI. Note to Mr. Decker--play him more PLEASE!!! Sharlon Schoop knocked in a run with an infield hit.

At the game today... Pill smacked one hard off the wall and then got thrown out at second--I don't know if he was in a home run trot or if that's as fast as he runs... actually, he hit the ball very hard a lot, although mostly they were just loud outs. EME's home run was lovely.

Maday didn't look that good; he clearly had nothing left when he loaded the bases and then was taken out. Paterson put two guys on in the ninth just to make it interesting.

Beautiful day in NB. About time, too.

Referring to Ex Defenders. I heard Sandoval almost hit 4 Home runs yesterday!. He did hit 2, then one to the track, then another long bomb, but foul off of Hoffman.
Good to see the Defenders get the win these past two days against solid pitchers.
