Defs lose 1-0 in NH tonight as...
the FisherCats pushed across a run in the bottom of the 8th on a pair of singles off Waldis Joaquin (3-5)and a sac fly off Matt Yorkin. Madison Bumgarner threw 5.1 IP of one hit ball with 3 Ks, 4 BB, a WP and a PO. THe Defs could manage just 5 hits in the ball game.
Misc fan notes: The winning run was scored by New London's Todd Donovan whose father was in the stands with us Monday afternoon.

Note: the Defenders faced Shawn Marcum, rehabbing for Toronto. Seems as if the Defenders are always playing people rehabbing or ex MLBs guys. Kason Gabbard (Portland) Matt Chico and Dmitri Young (Harrisburg) Raul Ibañez and tonight Marcum (NHF)
