Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Defs win Game 1 of today's DH...

against the RockCats 3-1. Ct scored all three runs in the first on a Bobby Felmy RBI triple, a RBI double by EME to score Felmy and Brad Boyer knocked home EME with a single. Madison Bumgarner went just four innings allowing 5 hits, one a solo homer. Dan Griffin (6-5) throws an inning and gets the victory. Joe Paterson records his 10th save.
In Game 2 the Defs are trailing 4-3 after 5.5 innings. Mike Musgrave got the spot start and lasted just an inning giving up three runs in the first. Ben Snyder, who should have started, has thrown the last 4 innings giving up just one run. Brett Pill has knocked in two runs in the contest.

UPDATE: Defs lose 7-3 in the nightcap. Ben Snyder gets a non deserved loss. Musgrave and Garcia each give up three runs each in their one inning of work and Snyder goes 4innings and gives up a run a gets tagged with the loss.
Defs remain 6 games up on the RockCats.

I can't stand Luke Hughes! He shouldn't be in Double-A this season. The Twins organization made the worst roster move ever. I just wish the Giants would bring up Buster Posey and Roger Kieschnick to Double-A right now, they'll beat the crap out of Luke and the 'Cats in New Britain for sure!

not sure why posey hasnt made the jump yet

sj is assured of a playoff spot and a bye...so no need to keep pounding the other teams

and posey would benefit from working with decker

i think they want to go a bit slower with kiesh

Reporting from the west coast....

The word on Posey is that he's ticketed to AAA after the all-star break.

Haven't heard anything about Kieschnick.

I think Thomas Neal is the one that should be moving up to AA. He's been crushing Cal league pitching all season much like Pablo Sandoval did last year. Can see any purpose in keeping him in A ball.

I want Picho back! at least over Griff/Gievy in our pen. I was utterly confused when I found out Musgrave was getting the nod. When Snyder who has been a starter, does not get the start? Not too mention, much better.
I think it would benefit the entire org to have Posey work with Alderson/M-Bum/Sosa and I'm hoping they do so at AA.
