The Fresno Bee reports:
"The San Francisco Giants' No. 2-rated prospect is heading to Fresno.
Catcher Buster Posey will join the Grizzlies on Thursday in Colorado Springs, where Fresno's Triple-A baseball team begins an eight-game road trip.
Promoted from Class-A San Jose, Posey was the Giants' first-round pick in 2008 (fifth overall). He's rated the organization's No. 2 prospect by Baseball America.
Posey was batting .326 with 13 home runs and 58 RBIs in 80 games with San Jose. The 2008 Golden Spikes Award winner out of Florida State was selected as a California League All-Star."
This really doesn't bother me that much....not so sure how I'd feel if CT was 7 games out of first instead of being up 7 games over the second place team.

Checking in from the west coast....
I'm really curious why Posey was not given a chance to work with Decker.
Last year Sandoval was held back in San Jose for half a season even though he was ripping the cover off of Cal League pitching. The reason given was they wanted Sandoval to work on his catching skills with Decker.
Given that Posey is still relatively inexperienced at catching, I would've thought they'd put Posey with Decker at the start of the season or at least promoted him at the same time as Bumgarner and Alderson.
It was pretty obvious early on that Posey could handle Cal league pitching without much trouble, so not sure why he was there for so long.

Some of you already know I like this move because we can continue to watch Jackson Williams improve. His "D" from the start of the season until now has been something. Kudo's to Decker.
Bacci......... now you have 1 of the 5 reasons why I think Decker has done a good job. There are 4 more.... I'm still waiting on you.

im frigging broke...seriously...and scared every second that my remaining clients are gonna dump me, and the new pt job i just got is gonna disapear.
does the park sell gift certificates on line? ill buy ya a beer that way.
and i still think posey should be working with decker for the rest of the season
plus posey needs to get in tune with madbaum and alderson
but i dont run the org...so what do i know

I have a feeling that Buster will be in CT sometime this season anyway.
He isnt ready for AAA and will either get demoted or once CT makes playoffs...he will get sent here to help out.

Bacci, All I'm waiting for are your five tangible reasons why you think Decker is a "water walker." You kept extolling his virtues and I want to know your logic. I have mine, there are five, you've already been given one. Keep your money, I don't drink too much anymore.
