Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Defs swept 9-4 and 4-3 tonight...

by Reading. In Game 1 Daryl Maday takes the loss after going 4.2 IP, allowing 9 hits (2 HRs) and 7 runs and his record falls to 6-5 with a 4.25 ERA. Brack Bond and Ramon Castro each had three hits with Castro hitting his third homer. Bryan Millikan made his CT debut throwing the last 2.1 IP. He gave up one hit, a homer and 3 walks and 2 runs.
Game 2 featured a start by Steve Calicutt (0-1), who like Millikan, was just called up from Augusta. Steve lasted just 2.1 IP allowing 3 runs on two hits and three walks. Dan Griffin threw the last two innings and the team is somehow determined to blow his arm out in the later stages of the season.

Misc fan notes: Like today I have to work Sunday, recap later in the day.

Am I the only one wondering about the starting pitching? Maday was awful. 42 pitches in the first inning, 103 in 4.2 innings. I didn't see Snyder on Friday, but I can't imagine he was much better. If these guys are going to continue to put the team in a whole in the 1st inning, they won't be around much longer.

Had enough after game 1 and left.
