Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

The Last Defender...well last regular season Defender...

anyway. The honor goes to Bryan Millikan who goes down in history as the last regular season player in franchise history. HOWEVER one of our posters, Jay, reports that pitching help is flying in from SJ. Both players are lefties.
Craig Clark is a 16-2 starter, with a 2.86 ERA. He threw 147.2 IP allowing 131 hits, 135 Ks with a .237 BA.
Wilmin Rodriguez was 4-1 with 3 saves with SJ. A 2.72 ERA over 59.2 IP, 44 hits, 50Ks with a .209 BA.
Jay also reports that Josh Phelps was released.

Thanks for the info Jay!

yea, Im not really sure why that was but I heard Josh telling a few fans while he was leaving that he had been let go.

I was hoping they would call up Thomas Neal but I havent heard anything about that.

very weird that the org is sending sj players to ct for the playoffs, especially with fresno and augusta not making it

however, the sj roster is so offensively strong, maybe they just arent worried

and ct really does need pitching

and ya...dont get why phelps was given his release now

Greg - yep, a SJ Giants fan here ... your gain with Clark is fabu, but ACK for our playoffs. Craig's a great guy. Once suggested to me that the entire stadium go onto the field and into the dugout to celebrate a pre-game something. Gonna miss him a lot - he's a great guy.
