at least another five years at Dodd if all goes well...but I'm vey aware that another town's fans will be suffering the loss of their team.

Maybe I could end up with a chance to play a HS baseball game at Dodd, my senior season after all!

Good news so far. I feel the same way as you do Greg, that while a quick return of baseball to Norwich is a good thing, its sad that someone else has to lose a team for us to gain one. I feel for the fans of whichever team moves here, especially since it looks like it will be done with much less warning than the Defenders leaving. At least we got to say goodbye.
The comments posted under that Day story are... interesting you might say. There are only a few, but the ones that are just happy to have "something there to pay some taxes" outnumber the ones who are glad about the possibility of baseball being played there again so soon. I'd love to see more support from folks in the area!

W/O doing any in-depth analysis, the lease terms seem pretty steep for a 38 game season. If the Def's paid 140 K for a full season, 75 to 80 K would appear more appropriate for a short season. Must be some wicked fixed costs associated with Dodd.
