Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Ever since the Yankees moved, nobody really cared to go that far since the Giants were no draw. I can't see that happening with the Tigers either, no matter how much advertising goes into it.

"Ever since the Yankees moved......" Using team affiliation as an excuse for a franchise success is getting pretty old and , I for one, never bought into it. If affiliation is so important, then there must be a lot of Twins fans in New Britain and the surrounding towns. Bill Dowling made the NB franchise a success through hard work and an excellent business acumen.

A franchise will be successful if it is properly promoted, something we never saw in Norwich, especially under DiBella's ownership. And if this new ownership is more concerned about the teams name rather then getting organized, it could be deja vu. I'm sure there's a lot of prep work that can be done while waiting for this so called rubber stamp approval.

How many out there think Richmond is full of Giant baseball fans? Take a look at the Web site and see what they are planning. And note, also, it may be Lou's money, but he's got little to no say in the operations. As much as I'd like to see Richmond fall on its butt, doesn't look like it will happen..
