Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Congrats to the HOF class of 2010!!....

great day in Cooperstown yesterday. Tigers win 6-5 in 13 innings at Doubleday Field over the ValleyCats.
Could have easily spent another day just walking thru the Hall. Have not been there since 1969. Just a lot to see and take in.
Being there for induction weekend was a treat. Lots of HOFers around to BS with. Main Street was buzzing.
With the Hawk being inducted lots of people wearing Expos hats/shirts and the same for fans wearing Cardinals gear with the White Rat going in. I saw people wearing stuff from ever MLB team out there.
Anyway I took nearly 500 pics. Plently for me to work on, label, etc.

Hats off to the Tigers staff who went along yesterday--did a great job!

Ex Def News

1) Eugenio was hit in the head by a batted ball sitting on the Giants bench. Result was a concussion, hospital and DL. He's going to be OK. From what I've read, it was a very frightening incident.

2) Machemer recently won his 1400th game. My bet is at least 900-1000 were in the low Minors. He's always professed player development, not winning is more important in the minors. While at Norwich, he didn't win, but who did he develop?

I just never liked the guy. Compare his years at Dodd to Decker's one year.

Did Matt Cain or Brian Wilson show up when Mach was here?? Fred Lewis? Schierholtz? Sandoval? Bowker? Ishikawa?

I'm not sure, just throwing out different names.

Look it up and draw your own conclusions. BTW, pitchers had the good fortune of being tutored by Stanley.
