Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Rain out post...

as CT and Hudson Valley were rained out tonight, The game will be made up on 8/4/10 as a DH at Dodd. So instead of a recap let us review the current stats of some of our fav players of the Navigators/Defenders past:

Mike Cervenak "The Mayor" is playing 3B for the Buffalo Bisons, the AAA team of the Mets.
Mike has played 70 games. BA is .249 with 4 HR and 24 RBI

Jake Wald is playing Double A ball for the D-backs as a Mobile BayBear. In 64 games he's batting .170 with a homer and 15 RBIs.

Dayton Buller is playing against Jake as a member of the Huntsville Stars, the Brewers AA team. He has a homer and 9 RBIs and is batting .228 in 30 games.

EME, on the comeback trail is playing High single A ball with the High Desert Mavericks. His BA is .367 in 31 games with 2 HRs and 16 RBIs.

Brett Pill, climbing the Giants ladder, is batting .282 in 93 games with Fresno. He has 21 doubles, 11 HRs and 57 RBIs.

Jake's career looks like it's coming to an end with a buck seventy BA. Ditto Cervanek with a low BA and now approaching his mid 30's.

Jackson Williams promoted to Fresno. Had his 1st AAA HR last night. Being reunited with Decker should help his career.

Ex Def Brad Hennessey now with Rochester, Twins AAA team. He's getting hammered. ERA around eight. For a season or two, he was a key contributor with the Giants.

Pat Misch, my personal favorite, having a very good year with Buffalo. I'm somewhat miffed the Met's have ignored him for promotion so far.

Noticed the Tiger's have an afternoon game Saturday. Weather permitting, who's planning on going? Time for a Section 11 reunion.

hondo--that's the HOF game being played in Copperstown at DoubleDay Field, a "home" away game that the Oneonta team had committed to.
Team is running at least one bus to to game. $50 gets you there and back, a day pass to the HOF, ticket to the game and lunch. There's a HOF parade down Main St at 6PM. Bus departs Dodd at 8AM and arrives at the hamlet around 11:30.Bus leaves NY at 8PM
I'm thinking about it.
