Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

HV misses both PATs but win 12-0....

tonight at Dodd as the Renegades' bats finally wake up after three straight losses blow out the Tigers. It was actually a close game after 5 inning with Hudson Valley with a 1-0 lead but the roof caved in on CT starter Josue Carreno (3-5) and relievers Drew Gagnier and Tyler White.
The Tigers could manage just two hits tonight, a PJ Polk triple and a Alexander Nunez single.
Vermont is winning 7-4 as I'm typing this so CT's stay in first place might be brief.

Misc fan notes: Well the Brass Bonanza didn't play at all tonight for CT runs; only for on field promotions. Former Whalers owner Howard Baldwin and player Bobby Crawford were both on hand. Bunch of folks with Whaler stuff on. The field was decorated with Whalers logos--very nice touch.
Hudson Valley also had a busload of fans there; a very lively bunch especially given the score.

NOTE: I'll have more tomorrow

This is strange! On June 13, 2010 Brian Buscher was transferred from AAA Columbus to Mahoning Valley in the NY/Penn League. Now he's fallen off the radar, not being listed on the team roster and has not participated in any games. He was having a decent year at Columbus.

Sounds to me like his career is in limbo, either temporarily or for good.

Brian was always a favorite of mine and he had a decent run with the Twins. Does anyone out there have any current info on him?
