Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

The shut out blues return...Yanks 2 Tigers 0...

tonight at Dodd. Starting pitcher Patrick Lawson (2-3) takes a tough loss. Lawson went 5.3 innings allowing just one run and notching 8 Ks. CT pitching racked up 14 strikeouts in the game. But the offense wasn't there again tonight as CT could manage just four hits total in the game.
The running game that the Tigers had success with last night back fired on then tonight. In the fourth inning Alexander Nunez singled and was thrown out at second when James Robbins missed a sac bunt attempt for the first out of the inning. Of course Robbins then singled and suffered the same fate as Nunez with J-Rod at bat; missed sac bunt thrown out a second.
The three game series is now tied at a game each with the rubber game tomorrow at 1 PM. Tri-City won their game to jump over the Tigers by a half game into second place. VT's game is suspended with Brooklyn leading 8-7 in the 12th inning. The loss also drops the Tigers to a game under .500. Tomorrow's game in a must win for the Tigers.

Misc fan notes: Play of the season in the top of the third. With one out and Yankees on first and second Tigers first baseman James Robbins catches a foul pop up drifting away from him down the right field line sprawling over the rain tarp and into the first row. He then turns and fires a strike to Matt Perry at third to double up the runner tagging from second.

Vintage baseball game at Dodd prior to the game Sunday at 11:30AM. I'm looking forward to that; have never seen that before.

Good seeing Jared and his Mom at the game tonight!

First rate chicken quesadilla upstairs in The Yard!
