Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Slip sliding away...Tigers lose in 11 innings 5-4...

to the host Valley Cats tonight. 14 CT hits and only 4 runs, ouch--Robbins, Ashenbrenner, Nunez and Roof with the RBIs for the Tigers. 5 errors in the game committed by the Tigers, 3 by shortstop Brett Anderson (he has 22 for the season; the winning run scored on back to back Anderson errors).
Ramon Lebron (0-1) takes the loss. Tyler Clark pitched 3.2 innings of shutout relief for CT.
The loss drop the Tigers to three games under .500 as the second place ValleyCats start to close in on division leader Vermont. Post season hopes are slipping away quickly....

I think Jamestown was a better choice to pick as the team to be relocated to Norwich. We could've done a whole lot better with the Marlins affiliate around than with the Tigers, and they would've owned the Stedler Division with the second best record overall in the NY Penn League (behind Brooklyn). They would be 11 games over .500 and 6 games in front of Vermont right now. That was REALLY a bad choice for City of Norwich to go after last offseason!

Brock Bond was sent down to Richmond even though he's having a real solid season to make room for Brandon Belt. Think this meens trouble for Brett Pill?
