Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Tigers beat Yanks 4-2, snap 4 game slide...

and get back to the .500 mark. With Vermont and Tri-City losing tonight, CT is back in second place by a half game and behind the first place Lake Monsters by a game. Whoever gets hot.....
With the Tigers down 1-0 in the fifth, Brett Anderson walked and then stole second. Ryan Soares sac bunted Anderson over to third. Soares was safe on the bunt as the Yankee pitcher held the ball waiting for the second baseman to cover first. Chao-Ting Tang hit a RBI ground out to tie the game at 1-1. PJ Polk then doubled home Tang from first to make hit 2-1. Polk stole third and scored on the catcher's throwing error to make it 3-1 CT.
The Tigers added a big insurance run in the 8th on Matt Perry's RBI double making it 4-1 Connecticut. Perry went for 4 tonight.
Clemente Mendoza earned the win to even his record at 5-5. Tyler Clark held Staten Island scoreless for two innings. Ramon Lebron made it interesting the the ninth allowing one run before getting the final out to earn his first save.

Misc fan notes: Yankees + belly dancers (that's right, belly dancers) + fireworks = the biggest crowd of the season at 3213 folks in the stands. Great to see Dodd alive! Cars parked out in the auxiliary lot! Vendors on the concourse, picnic area in use, a ton of kids playing on the berms....good times.

Pics top to bottom: Polk, Tang, Londell Taylor and Eric Roof. I'll put up more pictures from tonight's game tomorrow.

I've lived in Franklin for over 10 years and this was the first time I went to Dodd stadium (of course I kinda had to, my wife was one of the Bellydancers!) We had a blast and I love the stadium, it's very "cozy"! We uploaded a tom of picture to Facebook already!
