Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Tigers shut out again 6-0 tonight at Dodd....

by the Tri-City ValleyCats. It's the third straight shut out loss suffered by the Tigers and their scoreless inning streak now stands at 28. The loss also drops the team back to the .500 mark and yet with Vermont's loss today they are still just a game out of first place. Tri-City is just a half game behind the Tigers.
No CT offense again as the Tigers mustered just 4 hits in the game. A listless game that moved along fairly quickly.

Misc fan notes: Great getting caught up with AR Fan tonight. Flash (Antoan Richardson) doing well with the Double A Braves in the Southern League. Flash is batting .294 (68 for 231) with 17 RBIs. He has 21 SBs and has only been caught twice.

Good seeing Joe Perez at the park also. Yanks win!

Tip of the hat to Kim upstairs at the Yard for the Landshark beer recommendation. Pretty good and like Kim said if it's from Jimmy Buffet.....

Today's pic: Thanks to AR Fan for pointing out a beautiful sunset tonight. Like Ferris Bueller said: "Life moves pretty quick. If you don't stop sometimes you might miss it."

INF for the A's from '88-'93. Two World Series for him, a win and a loss. Tidy career.

Last night, I was at a Rock Cats game when they played against Richmond. The Rock Cats pitcher was perfect through 7 innings without giving up a hit and a walk until a former Defenders player Brad Boyer broke up the perfection with a single. But at least I was happy Richmond lost to New Britain. I got a chance to see Brad Boyer, Ross Grimsley, Tyler LaTorre, Sharlon Schoop, and Eric Ortega, before the game and Darrell Maday after the game. Inside their coach bus, they can watch live out of market baseball games while they're traveling on their road trips. I don't know how they can watch live games on the go, boy are they so lucky. It would've been great if we watched live baseball games on our coach bus trip to and from Cooperstown last month, but I think watching movies would be better.

4 shutouts in 5 games.
They haven't scored more than 2 runs since August 11th, and more than 2 at home since a 3-2 home win. You have to go back to July 22nd to find a home game where we scored more than 3 runs.
