Connecticut catcher Julio Rodriquez picked off a runner at second in the 8th to end the inning after the Renegades had tied the game and were threating to push more runs across. Taylor made a nice catch in the outfield in the 7th to rob a batter of extra bases.
The Tigers tied the score in the fourth on Brett Anderson's sac fly with the bases loaded scoring Nunez who had lead off with a single and then stole second. The Tigers took a 2-1 lead in the fifth on PJ Polk's single and Nunez's long RBI triple into the right center gap.

Tigers banged out 10 hits but went just for 15 with RISP. With the win the Tigers are now in first place, a half game ahead of the Vermont Lake Monsters.

Misc fan notes: VERY good to be back at Dodd. Wish more folks came out. Only 1300 in house. Tiger worn special uniforms for Military Appreciation Night. The uniforms are very similar to the ones the Navigators worn for 4th of July and armed forces salutes .
Hartford Whalers night tomorrow. Got to pull/find that old Whalers uniform!

Ryan Soares was called out for using an illegal bat in the top of the 8th....very strange. Joe Perez with the explaination on his blog!
