Thoughts and pictures of my local minor league baseball team the New York Penn League Connecticut Tigers; a Detriot farm team. We'll still be looking at former Navigators/Defenders players along the way....

Marcus Thames..Norwich Navigator...Yankee....

Tiger and now a Yankee again right before he hits the game winning homer today in the Bronx as the Yanks pick up their 8th straight victory 7-5 over the Blue Jays.
Great day at the stadium for yours truly but a tough day for UCONN football in the big house and the CT Tigers are losing 3-0 late as the ValleyCats have won so CT has to win Sunday and Tri-City has to lose for CT to win the division if things hold up.

***UPDATE: Tigers lose tonight 3-1 so it's real simple; Tri-City has to lose and the Tigers have to win on the last day of the season tomorrow for the Tigers to win the division and advance to the post season....

Also plenty of pics taken today in the Bronx so the off season picture of the day well is a lot deeper now...

pretty cool that it comes down to the wire

wonder if the penn league is gonna pick up on what the nwl has instituted this season

for the first time, the nwl split the season so that their would be a first and second half champion...thereby expanding the playoffs, and increasing revenues for the teams

each half is really short, but makes each game even more important

First couple of weeks in college football always have a sprinkling of upsets and head scratchers and this year was no exception in week #1. Jax St knocks off Ole Miss, but not sure that was a huge upset. Ditto No Dakota St beating Kansas. The two games that really caused me to sit up were Utah St keeping it close with Okla and No. Carolina staying close to LSU in spite of 15 players being held out.

Maybe Okla and LSU will not be factors in the national rankings this year, which would be a nice change. I'm still rooting for TCU to turn the tables on the "big guys" and the BCS.

tough way to end the season 8-7 loss in 13 innings. Hoch allowed 3 in the 13th and Tri-City also lost

One thing of note...Connecticut played one more game than Tri-City
