Tigers take the rubber game 3-1 today

against the Spinners in Lowell. CT (2-1) jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first on a sac fly by Samir Rijo and a RBI single by Zach Maggard. They added a run in the fifth inning on a triple by Jason King (2 for 5 2 runs scored) and a Rijo RBI single.
Meanwhile Tigers starter Brennan Smith (1-0) pitched 5.1 IP of 3 hit shutout ball with 9 Ks to his credit. Jeff Barfield picked up a 2.1 IP save, the first Tigers save of the 2011 season.
